The East Ender – Portland, Maine

image

I am back at the East Ender, here in downtown Portland, Maine. This trip I brought my co-worker Ray along to enjoy the food. I love how this place makes some of their own ingredients, and sends me little mid-course treats to test out. The staff is great, and very personable, which goes a long [...]

Jimmy the Greeks – South Portland, Maine

image

Beer should be its own food group. This was my dinner, accompanied by good live music. It amazes me that the most northern states listens to country and country rock… a LOT!

Jimmy the Greeks – South Portland, Maine

image

So I have to stay in Maine over the weekend, since hurricane Irene will make it difficult to get back on Monday. However, it does mean that i can eat on the company dime and tell you about it. So tonight I went Greek… well… kinda. I had the Pad Thai noodles with flank steak, [...]

Novare Res Bier Cafe – Portland, Maine

Yes. Yes. Yes.  This place is awesome. The atmosphere, the food, and the BEER. Yes the beer.  I ordered a nice german lager, a cup of hearty beef stew, and for dessert… a vanilla/cocoa stout from Montreal and a piece of handmade bacon and chili pepper dark chocolate. An awesome combination.

The Cannon Brew Pub – Columbus, Georgia

Might be the best Monte Cristo I’ve ever had, certainly the best looking. Slaw was very good too: well-balanced, not too sweet or sharp.

Sebago Brewing Co. – Portland, Maine

image

Ray and I went downtown again to find a new joint to grub. We picked Sebago. We had been to the one in Scarborough and wanted to compare to the downtown spot. It was good. I went with a Bailey’s theme at the end, which was a great choice. Below were my choices: Runabout Red [...]

Fore Street – Portland, Maine

image

I promise you, the pictures don’t do the food justice. It was pretty dark, and the flash just made the pics worse. I don’t normally post on places that Ray and I visit since he will most likely post one too, but I can’t help it. This place was amazing. The environment, the view, and [...]

Uno Chicago Grill – Portland, Maine

Ate way too much today. Pizza and dessert. It was very good. I didn’t eat all of the dessert… I shared.

Sea Dog Brewing Company – Portland, Maine

I was so excited to try out the clam chowder and lobster when I got to Maine. I did the clam chowder tonight, and I promise you it was the best clam chowder I’ve ever eaten. Lobster is coming later in the week. After clam chowder came the tuna steak and wasabi sandwich with sweet [...]

Cannon Brew Pub – Columbus, GA

Happy Halloween! We went out last night for a costumed night out on the town and decided to stop in for a late dinner. The kitchen was about to close but we thankfully got our order in just in time. My very first mussel dish, these Drunken Mussels were drowned in a garlicky broth and [...]
