If you are “Simpsons” fan, you remember the episode where Homer had to choose between drinking “Mountain Dew” or crab juice. He wisely chose the crab juice. If you thought that was weird, think again. On my way back from Hong Kong, we spent our final cash on food, of course. Here’s one of them, [...]

This place was featured in “No Reservations”, hosted by Anthony Bourdin. He hyped it up as a place to eat “guts”. I’ve been meaning to come to this place for a while. But thanks to a fellow foodie’s support, I had the guts to do so. Their menu. Beverage menu. House-marinated olives. Fresh, salty, and [...]

A coworker was raving about this place, especially their jerk chicken. I haven’t had jerk chicken since I was in Fort Lauderdale, FL, so thumbs up for me. Their menu. Had their famous BahamaRita (Cuervo Gold Tequila, kiwi, strawberry and mango ices). It was tasty! You can drink quite a few of those, if you [...]

Their menu. They are special for their large 14″ slices. I got their “West Side” (Pepperoni, mushrooms, mozzarella, and marinara) and “The Porto-Bella” (balsamic-marinated portobella mushrooms, artichoke hearts, arugula, ricotta mozzarella, and marinara) slices. Overall, as you expect, it was filling, and it’s solid. Cool atmosphere and waitresses helps!

I was searching for a local-favorite Vietnamese restaurant, called “What the Pho”, but have to settle for this place instead. Their menu. I got the “Pho Khong Thit”, which is their “Vegetables Only” dish (felt healthy that day). Well, it was “healthy” alright. It only had pho noodles, onions, and soup. Man, I was disappointed. [...]

This is the only Japanese restaurant in this “Great Wall” strip mall. What caught my eye was their advertisement of their ramen. I love ramen, so what the hay. Their menu. Well, it didn’t look like the picture on the menu, but I got their “Shouyu”. As I said, it did not look like the [...]

On our way to find another Vietnamese restaurant, this place was close enough. My coworker has been here before, and he liked it. So why not? Their menu. Of course I have to get the standard Phad Thai, and surprisingly it was really good. Sauce was evenly distributed, fresh, and tasty. It’s loaded!

Pass by Downtown Renton, WA a lot and every time I see this place in my view. So one night, I put my foot down and decide to give them a try. Warning: This is a “family pub”, so expect children in an unlikely establishment! Their menu. I was in a burger mood, so I [...]

Siblings’ recommendation. I trust them. Don’t know what the name’s mean, but it’s a nice little food shop! Their shop. Their menu. My siblings recommended “Purplekow Iced Milk Drink with Caramel & Pudding & Boba” OMG. That’s so awesome that I cannot have it everyday! It’s definitely a treat, and I will come back! [...]

When it comes to Washington state, BBQ would probably be the last food you would eat. Well, found a place near the hotel that serves it, so might as well give them a try. Their menu and eating area. I had their BBQ beef brisket dinner. It was meh. The brisket was dry and almost [...]

Eritrea. How do you pronounce that? Anyway, ever have their food before? I never. So let’s try something completely new for the New Year! Their menu. Had their tea. Taste like Lipton to me. Vegetable sambusa. Very fresh, hot, spicy, but delicious. The innards. Ordered the meat and vegetable sample platters. Man that was [...]

Continuing my Vietnamese pho restaurant adventure, I wandered off to this place in a middle of a shopping-heavy area, tucked near a corner of a strip mall. I was hungry, so here I was. Also continuing with my veggie diet from Thanksgiving withdraw, I tried their “Pho Kong Thit” or “Vegetables Only (Without Meat)”. Well, [...]

Another big meal after Thanksgiving. How so? All-you-can-year meat! …And salad bar. But it’s all about the meat here, cooked Brazilian style! Nice place. From their salad bar: Veggies on top left, roasted corn at top right, prosciutto ham at bottom left, and Brazilian crepe (or as I call it, “Brazilian Lasagna”). All taste fresh [...]

The day after Thanksgiving. After spending time with family, it’s time to spend some time with friends, starting with brunch. One of them recommended this place. One of their popular items: Gingerbread pancakes! Their brunch menu. Since they are known for their gingerbread pancakes, gotta get that with maple syrup. That poach pear and its [...]

Ever had garlic noodles before? I never did until I came here. Now a lot of Vietnamese restaurants are doing it! But out of all of the ones I had, this place still has the best. Their menu. I’m eying on the “Five Spice Chicken Garlic Noodle” on top. And here it is. The chicken [...]

I love hole-in-the-wall restaurants. There are many in San Francisco, this being one of them, which serves organic sausages. Gotta love California and its eating habits! Also this place is opened by Asian American with a “green” business model. Gotta love California and its culture! Small, but has everything you need to enjoy your organic [...]

A new Asian-Western restaurant opened near my neighborhood, where a crawfish joint used to be. Off I go! Their menu. I ordered the Sampan congee (rice porridge), containing peanuts, Chinese donut, green onions, pork rinds, stomach, intestines, and shrimp. Even though their service was slow and inconsistent, fortunately they made up for it with this [...]

Instead of going to the same Japanese restaurant for lunch, decided to come here instead. Hmmm… The line doesn’t look promising. Unfortunately I see why. There were only two people who were working and took them about 10 minutes to prepare and serve my lunch. I got the chicken udon, and man was that underwhelming! [...]

I remember my first taste of Filipino fast food. And this place was it. Basically if McDonald’s and KFC had a baby, Jollibee would be the result. I ordered the “Big Yum” burger with fries and Diet Pepsi. First off, the Diet Pepsi was horrible. I think someone didn’t follow the instructions. The fries were [...]
